Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of CPU and Procurement Focal Points, the intern will be entrusted different tasks to support the Central Procurement Unit and by providing support to the CPU buyers in various procurement tasks for UNDP, the intern will be:
  • Drafting contracts for new vendors and other procurement related documents needed throughout the development of each procurement case;
  • Set up databases to track contracts expiry and send reminders and request feedback from CPU Clients;
  • Attending desk reviews and interviews with CPU buyers and draft evaluation reports;
  • Coordinate the logistics of candidates interviews and setups;
  • Review, analyze and update the clients feedback surveys and CPU website;
  • Supporting in the preparation of Standard Operating Procedure Documents (SOP) for CPU Contract Management;
  • Preparing Draft Evaluation Reports for procurement processes as requested by Buyers;
  • Notifying CPU clients about upcoming expiration dates of contracts and following up on expired/ upcoming expire contracts;
  • Maintenance of the filing/archiving of our active and archived contracts;
  • Tracking of progress on agreed issues in meetings and follow-up with CPU focal points on deadlines;
  • Support future recruitment and outreach for CPU interns;
  • Assist in market research tasks for the preparation of documents prior to the launching of tender

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Students in development, business, international relations, law or related fields who are currently: i) enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or ii) enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or (iii) have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Experience:
  • No professional experience necessary.
Language Requirements:
  • All applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English;
  • Additional UN languages (especially, Arabic, French, and Spanish) are a distinct advantage.
  • Availability:
