Summary of Key Functions:
- Support project management and implementation under the portfolio of Chemicals
- Support project development in the field of POPs
- Support relevant communication, advocacy and innovation activities
- Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing
- Provide administrative support to the portfolio and Programme Unit
1. Support to management of projects under the portfolio of Chemicals focusing on the achievement of the following results:
- Coordinate with various partners including implementing partners, local project management office, demonstration enterprises, national and international experts and any other relevant players.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of project implementation.
- Summarize data and prepare reporting as per UNDP requirements.
- Creation of projects in Atlas, preparation of budget revisions, revision of project award and project status, determination of unutilized funds, operational and financial closure of a project.
- Presentation of information for audit of NEX projects.
- Finance management of the projects.
2. Support project development in the field of POPs
- Coordinate with governments, expert team, RBAP and HQ of UNDP to develop new GEF POPs projects.
- Provide inputs to the idea identification and proposals.
- Assist in the PIF preparation and submission processes.
3. Support relevant communication, advocacy and innovation activities
- Provide support in design and implement innovative approaches to improve the portfolio’s influences.
- Provide support in design and organize communication activities and public awareness campaigns to raise the public’s understanding on chemicals and waste management.
- Provide support in design and organize activities to increase the exposure of the projects and portfolio.
- Provision of information on papers and newsletters to brief the stakeholders the progress and impacts of the projects.
4. Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
5. Provide administrative support to the portfolio and also support relevant communication and advocacy activities
- Preparation of non-PO vouchers for development projects.
- Maintenance of the internal expenditures control system including timely corrective actions on unposted vouchers, including the vouchers with budget check errors, match exceptions, unapproved vouchers.
- Creation of requisitions in Atlas for development projects, register of goods receipt in Atlas.
- Making budget check for requisitions, POs and vouchers.
