Tasks and responsibilities
A number of livestock sector modelling experts will be recruited to carry out the following tasks, under the overall guidance of the Livestock Policy Officers.
  1. Search for, collect, enter, validate and document livestock data for AGAL’s information systems: GLIMS; GLIPHA; GLW, GLEAM and GLEAM-i.
  2. Contribute to the smooth implementation of these information resources and the validation of outputs (for example through internal checks and by comparison with other studies).
  3. Contribute to the documentation of procedures in AGAL’s information systems.
  4. Contribute to the testing and further development of AGAL’s information resources and liaise with CIO with regards to the maintenance of the databases and information systems.
  5. Contribute to the maintenance of AGAL web pages associated with these information systems – prepare material and liaise with the AGA communication team for implementation.
  6. Respond to requests for data and assistance from within AGAL and from third parties within FAO e.g. ESS and ESD) and outside FAO.
  7. Maintain and analyse GIS datasets (including metadata and WMP publication as required) and produce maps, tables and other graphics in support of projects and activities within AGAL in contribution to presentations, publications and other communication material.
  8. Participate in relevant internal and divisional meetings and workshops.
  9. Perform other duties as required
