Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will work for Global Partnership Team under the Senior Advisor to UNDP Resident Representative’s supervision, to support the coordination and activities of the Global Partnership Team in China. The incumbent is expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
  • To support the drafting of the UNDP-CDB Report and the Global Governance Report and the preparation for launching the reports.
  • To support the preparation of the Team’s various activities on themes including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”.
  • To provide support to the SDGs and BRI related research;
  • To translate relevant research documents and provide interpretation during meetings;
  • To assist administrative work of the office including arranging meetings;
  • To assist the filing for this office;
To perform other tasks as may be assigned by this office.

Competencies

  • Self-motivated and responsible;
  • Good communication and sense of judgment;
  • Detail-oriented, preferably with previous administrative and office management experience;
  • Filing management skills;
  • Ability to work independently. 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in International Politics, International Studies or related fields (Outstanding undergraduate candidates are also considered);
  • Certification and/or experience in English-to-Chinese translation is strongly desirable;
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English;
  • Good computer and IT skills and experiences in using office software package.
