Responsibilities
The Computer Information Systems Assistant will perform the following duties:

•Design, develop, test and debug windows applications and web applications using Microsoft .NET technologies (WPF, Windows Forms and ASP.NET MVC); 
•Develop, test and debug web applications using technologies such as: HTML, JavaScript, ORM, SQL, Angular JS and other frameworks;
•Prepare technical and user documentation for deployed computer application systems, as well as training materials, and conduct technical presentations using UNODC standard tools: Lotus Notes, Visio and MS Office products;
•Maintain functional specifications for computer application systems, programs and procedures developed and/or modified;
•Provide support for deployed computer application systems including version management, deployment and data recovery;
•Participate in testing and evaluating new tools and technologies and making recommendations on the adaptation of such tools to the immediate supervisor; 
•Perform any other work related duties as required.
Competencies

Has knowledge of relevant programming language(s) and ability to use programming skills to develop information systems. Has knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL language, database administration, database administration concepts including Oracle (MS SQL desirable), configuration, performance, security. Has knowledge of system development workflow and document flow processes, ability to conduct research and gather information from a wide variety of standard and non-standard sources. Is able to respond to changing requirements and assignments. Has demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Education
Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant additional post-secondary education or training is an asset. Certification in C#.NET, SQL and/or Oracle technologies is an asset.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience in systems analysis, development and programming is required. Experience in developing medium to large scale systems using Microsoft .NET/ C# is required. Experience in working with Windows Forms is essential while experience in Windows WPF, ASP.NET coupled with JS, AngularJS, WebAPI, Entity Framework is desirable. A working knowledge of SQL Server and the ability to design relational databases is required. A working knowledge of PL/SQL and Oracle Server is an advantage. Experience in test driven development is desirable. Experience in technical documentation writing for the full systems development cycle including end user documentation is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
