DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1. Assist in providing technical support to the ADG Office overall programme management, grants management, work planning, day-to-day operation, monitoring and reporting of work plans.
2. Provide briefings and monthly financial reports to the ADG/NMH and ADGO staff and relevant senior management.
3. Assist in monitoring and preparation of progress reports, briefings, proposals, communications and advocacy documents required for strategic decision making.
4. Provide a systematic collection of information from the WHO Regional NCD Divisions, including NCD Office in Moscow, and country focal points for NCD (NPO's) as well as other key partners, to generate a consolidated overview of needs and requirements along with best practices on regional and country levels.
5. Provide support to the ADG team in preparation to the Third UN General Assembly High-level Meeting.
6. Support in preparation and implementation of regular staff meetings as well as meetings with member-states, partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
7. Contribute to the development of project proposals and programs related to the interests of a variety of partners, both current and prospective, interested in support of the technical work of the NMH cluster.
8. Contribute to the effective partnerships with stakeholders (implementation partners, member-states, donors and others) to exchange critical and technical information regarding progress and impact of NCD activities and support in resolving project implementation issues.
9. Assist in fundraising activities related to projects and programs, including: gathering information, identifying potential interested parties, conducting negotiations and consultations with partner.
10. Contribute to communication activities for fundraising in order to raise awareness of the NCD burden and its risk factors among existing and potential donors. Collaborate with NMH and DCO communications staff. Support range of information materials for use in resource mobilization.
11. Ensuring a systematic and planned approach to regular interaction with donors, including briefing meetings, preparation and submission of proposals, reporting, and timely acknowledgement of receipt of funds; contribute to generating proposals, reports and other information to be submitted by the NMH cluster to donors and potential donors.
12. Support in analyze the international development environment; assist in developing strategies for re-engaging, attracting and sustaining funding partnerships with key actors in the international community
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: University degree in medicine or health related sciences.Desirable: Master degree in public health or international relations.
Experience
Essential: Five years working experience in public health and/or the prevention and control of Noncommunicable diseases and Mental Health at national and at least two years at international levels.Desirable: Experience at an international level developing grant proposals and writing progress reports for donors.
