 Position Title : Supply Chain Officer (Warehouse) Duty Station : Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh Classification : Professional Staff, Grade P2 Type of Appointment : Special short-term graded, Six months with possibility of extension Estimated Start Date : As soon as possible Closing Date : 16 May 2018 Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Qualified applicants from the following NMS countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Congo, Cabo Verde, Czech Republic, Djibouti, Fiji, Micronesia (Federated States of), Gabon, Guyana, Iceland, Comoros, Lesotho, Libya, Montenegro, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Malawi, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Seychelles, Slovenia, Suriname, El Salvador, Swaziland, Timor-Leste, Holy See, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vanuatu, Samoa Context: Under the overall supervision of the Emergency Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Manager and, the successful candidate will be responsible for organizing warehousing activities including: space planning and allocation, documentation management and reporting, daily management of staff and overall logistics support to the operations measured by IOM Procurement and Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators: • Best Value Sourcing and Value for Money • Availability and Quality • Compliance and Stewardship • Productivity and Efficiency Core Functions / Responsibilities: 1. Ensure all warehousing transactions are done in line with IOM internal guidelines and in close coordination with the Supply Chain Manager. 2. Coordinate with relevant units and projects in receiving, storing, packing, kitting, labelling and dispatching of goods from or to the warehouse. 3. Coordinate with suppliers and transport service providers on receipt and distribution of goods Page 1 / 4 at the warehouse. 4. Plan and organize efficient and safe storing of goods at the warehouse, in accordance with the available space and requirements. 5. Ensure that all goods are properly stored and timely registered into the warehouse inventory data base. 6. Ensure high standards of safety and security of warehouse operations, including but not limited to facilities, assets and staff. Ensure that risk management mitigation measures are in place for daily warehouse operations including insurance coverage. 7. Monitor and track all financial aspects related to the warehouse and be accountable for all stored goods. 8. Maintain records of all transactions, ensuring that an efficient filing system for stock records of all documents are kept. 9. Train and supervise warehousing staff, ensuring that they conduct their job in line with established procedures. 10. When necessary, travel to field locations and provide training to other logistics staff to increase their knowledge and capacity, ensuring that logistics activities are conducted in line with the rules and regulations. 11. Identify and propose new warehousing facilities, in line with the demand of the operations. 12. Keep records, make analysis of the warehouse running cost and ensure warehousing operations are efficient and effective. 13. Prepare daily and weekly report for warehouse operation and management activities. 14. At the request of the Line Manager or Head of Sub-Office/ Emergency Coordinator, participate in staff development and training processes. 15. Act with integrity and professionalism and in accordance with IOM’s Code of Conduct, at all times. 16. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Required Qualifications and Experience: Education • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Business Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience. Experience • Experience in administration, logistics and procurement, preferably experience in logistics within IOM as well as Asset and stock inventory management; • Effectively applies specialized knowledge of logistics, asset and stock inventory management; • Effectively works with vendors and service providers in compliance with IOM procedures to secure cost-effective quality solutions for IOM; • Proficient in SAP and computer application.
