Job Description
BACKGROUND: Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading, non-sectarian, non-profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services, and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict.  Domestically, our 29 offices across the U.S. ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing, and work with refugees to help them gain self-sufficiency. 
SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: Information Systems intern will play an important role in supporting the administration of USP’s databases. Ensuring program effectiveness through data analysis and measurement is one of the IRC’s strategic goals. 
COMMITMENT: 6-12 months starting in March 2018 
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the administration of US Programs information systems, IRIS and ETO. Assist with end-user support, responding to user questions and escalating as appropriate to support technician. Assist with updating system documentation as new configuration and enhancements are deployed. 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current or recently matriculated undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Knowledge of or experience with information systems for health and human services or other type of Client Relationship Mangement (CRM) software.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Intern will learn customer service standards for user support and database management
  • Intern will learn how to perform user maintenance and other administrative tasks in ETO
  • Intern will learn system documentation protocols
