Job Description
The Data Assistant will support IRC Health Syria Country program. This position will work as part of dynamic team, engaged in data entry and information maintenance, focused on compiling data from various program data repository in order to aid program planning and inform programming decisions. The position will provide support to partner NGOs that directly report to cross border health and improve program quality and delivery while actively participating in ongoing data amalgamation, maintenance and data management activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Enter, Collect and aggregate HIS data and summarize aggregated spreadsheet on Monthly/Weekly or Daily basis
- Maintain data of program databases focusing on how data components are represented.
- Use knowledge of computer programming languages, add/tweak formulas and charts that aid program monitoring, tracking and data representation.
- On a daily/weekly/monthly basis, provide his/her supervisor with narrative information/reporting and program data representations as required.
- Provide his/her supervisor with donor, partner and program activity summaries as they relate to data tracking
- Help gather, fact check, analyze and integrate programmatic data from staff and determine how the information can be best organized and displayed.
- Complete project tasks that require data mining, analysis, and presentation.
- Clean, organize and establish relational dataset of Community health program data
Reporting and Communication
- Engage in data collection at point of entry e.g. Partners and other colleagues
- Prepare and update sector and/or’, data requests, and other program and external communications information as necessary for dissemination to donors, peer organizations, or other relevant entities.
- Take part in and actively maintain appropriate, regular, transparent and supportive communication structures with the assigned team, advisors and other relevant stakeholders, with the objective of ensuring cooperation partnerships.
- Assist partner staff in the classification of monthly caseload data
- Train partner staff on the use of DHIS2 and support partners in filling in the information.
- Maintain regular communication with partner medical teams.
- Extract individual case information from data bases and compare with aggregated data.
- Compare information and spot check data to identify differences or errors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Computer science, MIS or equivalent. Statistics, data analysis and data-driven computation are all relevant areas of study.
- Experience in managing large datasets over a broad spectrum information types.
- Knowledge and experience of programming with databases and automated analysis, use of programming languages would be an asset.
- Experience in designing and maintaining relational databases.
- Knowledge and/or experience ODK (open data kit), ONA, Box, PostgreSQL and/or other data collection/analysis tools.
- Strong data management skills and the ability to present deliverables to a variety of audiences.
- Moderate to Advance skills on MS office (particularly Excel spreadsheets)
- Excellent communication, coordination, and information management skills.
- Fluency in Arabic is required. Excellent in English (written and spoken) is required.
- Ability to multi-task is advantageous to the position.
- The flexibility to change tasks quickly and provide documents/records to various personnel is preferred.
- Must have an ability to work as an active team member but independently, with limited guidance.
