Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
• Coordinates activities related to budget and funding for the Transnational Threats (TNT) project (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.) as directed by the Team Leader/Section Chief;
• Coordinate outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities related to the TNT project;
• Support the implementation of the elements of the TNT project;
• Provide support to other staff working on the TNT project;
• Provide technical input into the TNT project activities;
• Provide specialized advice on the development and implementation of strategies and plans for a stakeholder communication strategy related to the TNT project;
• Perform other work-related outputs supporting the TNT Project as requested by the Team Leader/ Section Chief including administrative work;
• Assist in drafting and processing of correspondence and taking notes at meetings as required;
• Perform any other duties that relate to his/her expertise as directed by the Team Leader or MMSS Section Chief.

Knowledge of concepts and approaches on communication strategies. Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in criminal justice, political or social sciences, international relations or related area. A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications, experience and professional training may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible in project or programme management and implementation is required. Experience in providing both strategical and operational support on communication strategies and related issues is required. Peacekeeping and or other international experience is an advantage. Experience in the field of rule of law, policing, national or international law enforcement agencies or related field are highly desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language, preferably French, is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
