Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Assists in the organization of the meetings of human rights treaty bodies, particularly travel of participants and staff, organization of conference rooms, and preparation of background materials and provides support during meetings; assists in the preparation of missions of experts, including administrative requests; receives, scans and distributes documents, reports and correspondence relating to the sessions of treaty bodies, States' parties and related meetings; initiates administrative requests for meetings of team members and makes necessary arrangements for meetings, including issuance of invitations, preparation of attendance lists and agenda, correspondence and any follow-up action, as necessary; monitors and keeps track of treaty body information and ensures that it is placed on the website and or relevant databases; assists in the retrieval of information relating to the treaty body system and produces reports according to needs of the members of the team; ensures the maintenance of the treaty body database and updates information relating to treaty body reporting, general comments, concluding observations; participates in the development of databases in the Branch and provides feedback to developers as required; prepares correspondence, reports, evaluation and justifications, maintains archives and files correspondence; and performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience
At least five (5) years of administrative experience is required. Three (3) years of experience within the United Nations is desirable. Experience in organizing meetings and travel is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the official working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
