Tasks and responsibilities
- Participate in and contribute to exercises for planning, monitoring and reporting of core and ad-hoc activities of the Commission internally, at organizational level and within GFCM area of competence
- Support the organization/administration of meetings, workshops and events in GFCM area of competence (including in FAO HQ) through the use of FAO Corporate Systems (GRMS, FPMIS, IMIS, etc.) for administration actions (including travel and procurement)
- Manage and propose improvements relating to office documents, internal and external exchanges of GFCM Secretariat, liaise with Secretariat staff and partners relating to GFCM core activities
- Provide technical inputs and/or data including the review and analysis of issues and trends towards effective decision making processes
- Prepare and manage inventory of materials, equipment and maintenance of offices located in Palazzo Blumenstihl
- Perform any other related duties as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced University degree in Business Administration (University Degree for PSAs), Public Administration, International Law, Political Sciences, Liberal Arts/Languages, Humanities or related fields relevant to the Organization.
- At least one year of relevant experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, International Law, Political Sciences, Liberal Arts/Languages, Humanities or related fields relevant to the Organization
- Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of French or Spanish (for Consultants). Limited knowledge of English (for PSAs).

- Good knowledge of FAO Corporate Systems used for Administration, Finance and Programme related activities
- Familiarity with organization and maintenance of repositories

- Experience in monitoring Administration/project delivery
- Excellent numerical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, under time pressure and meet deadlines
- Thoroughness and reliability, sense of diplomacy and tact
- Familiarity with procedures and operations of Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs) and fisheries advisory bodies will be an asset
