The role
Join Australia Indonesia Infrastructure Partnership (Kemitraan Indonesia Australia untuk Infrastruktur - KIAT) in Jakarta to play an integral role in to meet the overall objectives of the WatSan unit and KIAT facility. The role will be primarily responsible for the Palembang City Sewerage Project (PCSP) implementation including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlines, and will also be responsible for extending the sanitation portfolio of activities into new areas.
 
The Program Officer will assist the Deputy Director WatSan in ensuring the quality and integrity of PCSP and other project implementation, including adherence to technical guidelines, administrative systems, and established deadlines.
 
This role also involves:
  • Assist with identification, design, implementation and monitoring of PCSP and related programs in DGHS (Cipta Karya).
  • Provide close oversight of subcontractors/consultants and coordination of implementing agencies
  • Provide effective management and liaison with the stakeholders for assigned portfolio.
  • Contribute to the development of the future program of support to assigned portfolio.
  • Assist with preparation of tender documents and procurement of consultants to implement assigned portfolio.
  • Brief consultants at the commencement of their inputs on cross cutting issues and other KIAT requirements and during activity implementation in achieving outputs and outcomes.
  • Provide professional input to the identification, design development and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activity implementation with a range of stakeholders including national and regional counterparts, government and community stakeholders, implementing consultants, sub-contractors, GOA and KIAT teams.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the project and consultants, the performance of consultants and the quality of deliverables.

About you
You will be a motivated and proactive Program Officer – WatSan with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:
  • A bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering (environmental/civil), infrastructure, or related field from a recognized university.
  • At least 5 years of professional working experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience working with aid/donor programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail including the ability to maintain the high standards of probity expected by KIAT and GOA.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, creative and a lateral thinker.
  • Willing to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to assist and support the team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia, in writing and speaking, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Availability for an immediate start.
  • This position is open to Indonesian nationals only.
