The role
Do you relish working independently with a high degree of personal responsibility? Does the sustainable seafood sector excite you? Reporting to the Program Director, DACH, we are looking for a Fisheries and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, as a maternity cover from 18 June 2018 to October 2019.
You’ll be responsible for outreach to stakeholders in the fishing and non-industry sector (producer organisations, fishing associations, environmental NGOs, relevant governmental and research institutions) in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. You will also play a key role in promoting the MSC concept and certification program to fishing companies including supporting them during the MSC fishery assessment process and following certification.
Role requirements
You will have:
- An advanced degree in fisheries science, fisheries management or similar;
- Knowledge of fisheries and resource sustainability issues, particularly as they relate to wild capture fisheries and/or the seafood industry;
- Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders from environmental NGOs, government institutions, administration and research institutes; ability to build bridges between often diverging views and to win support of these stakeholders; and
- Fluent written and spoken German and English skills.
