Description

Background:
A pharmaceutical company has hired Axios International to set-up a patient assistance program (PAP) in Poland for its novel oncology therapies. Axios is working on a regional platform for this PAP, where U.A.E. will be the head of region and Poland will be a satellite office.

Objective:
The main role of the Consultant is to assist Axios teams involved in the PAP (Program Assistant Program), for setup and implementation activities.

Specific Activities:
A. Setup activities
1. Meeting Axios HQ team for introduction to the program, training on Axios activities
2. Assist Axios Regional team to conduct the due diligence process on the identified NGOs
3. be present for the meetings where Axios is meeting with client to finalise process flows, operation and logistics details
4. be responsible for the translation of program materials which are already prepared by Axios HQ team to local language(s), or to contact translators
5. Attending and completing Adverse Event Reporting and product trainings provided by the client
6. Assisting Axios teams with the meetings and trainings for client sales and marketing teams during internal launch meeting for the PAP
7. Assisting Axios teams with the trainings for distributor team and any other internal partners for the PAP

B. Implementation activities
1. Meet with the Client to validate and finalize PAP related operational issues such as patient flows, communication with distributor etc. The consultant could be asked to visit some key opinion leaders such as physicians for program introduction during this period. All activities mentioned in this clause will take place upon Client’s request.
2. Work in coordination with program manager in U.A.E. and Axios HQ team for the execution of PAP in Poland, address to address incoming inquiries from health care providers, patients, and other external parties about the program.
3. Coordinate with local government authorities as required for the execution of the program
4. Visit key stakeholders to introduce and inform physicians about the PAP and establish trust in the program. These visits will be 2-4 times a year and could be with or without client sales/medical teams of the client. The consultant is expected to schedule these visits.
5. Be responsible for all patient management activities listed below:
i. Initial communication with the patients who are referred to the program,
ii. Collect and verify documentation for financial assessment
iii. Interview patients for financial assessment evaluation,
iv. Follow-up with each patient may be required to receive documentation necessary for the financial eligibility assessment
v. Code patient data into the PFET model to assess new patients’ financial eligibility and share with Axios HQ
vi. Mediate the appeals process for patients contesting their classification result, potentially including the collection of additional information from patients and deliberations with Axios teams
vii. Communicate the final classification result to patients and providers by e-mail or mail
viii. Assist patients enrolling the public patient access program, Axios staff will assist the patient with the application via the patient’s physician if necessary
ix. Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure execution of PAP and FOC management as requested by Axios
x. All other activities which may rise related to patient management, enrolment and patient follow up.
6. Report adverse events to the client PV teams and/or program manager in U.A.E.
7. Update program database for the patients in Poland.
8. Attend workshops/trainings for the client sales/medical teams to refresh knowledge of the program.
9. Assist program manager in U.A.E. and Axios HQ team to set up meetings with client and key stakeholders.
10. Oversee the logistics and product delivery and solving any issues to ensure products are received by the patients.
11. Assist program manager in U.A.E. and Axios HQ team for inventory management, supply forecasts.
12. Assist program manager in U.A.E. and Axios HQ team for monitoring and evaluation of the PAP in Poland.
13. Assist program manager in U.A.E. and Axios HQ team for audits (internal and client audits) of the PAP in Poland.

Relationships:
  • Report to the Global Head of Consulting in UAE.
  • Work closely with project leaders and their teams including in-country and HQ staff.
  • Develop excellent relationships with clients as well as governmental agencies, NGO’s, patient communities and other key stakeholders.

Educational Background and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in science, economics, or a social science
  • Additional specialization in public health and/or epidemiology
  • 2 – 5 years 'professional experience in a pharmaceutical company or public health environment
  • Experience in statistical analysis
  • Experience in a healthcare consulting environment is essential
  • Proven project management experience
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Competency in statistical software such as SAS or STATA would be an advantage
  • Fluency in written and oral English

Job Circumstances:
  • This is a part time position that will be based in Poland. 
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential
  • Some international travel
