The European Investment Fund (EIF), is seeking to recruit for its Middle, Information and Bank Office (MIBO) – Information, Processes and Automation (IPA) Division - Business Solutions (BuS) Unit, at its headquarters in Luxembourg,

Business Analyst(s)
Appointment will be made on the basis of a fixed term contract of three (3) years
This is a generic campaign in view of both current and possible future vacancies

Purpose:
The Business Analyst will define and gather requirements, assess their impact, evaluate and propose solutions including architecture aspects, perform testing and manage the related projects. S/he will ensure that the user(s) of the solutions receive the necessary guidance and support. The selected candidate will work in close cooperation with the various project teams, business users and external solution providers.

Operating Network:
The incumbent will work in the Business Solutions Unit, reporting directly to the Head of Unit. S/he will work in close cooperation with other Business Analysts, consultants and all EIF services involved, ensuring projects and solutions are aligned with overall strategy. S/he will also ensure close contact with third parties including EIB Group services, external service providers and external consultants.

Responsibilities:
  • Pro-actively follow-up business developments and needs in own area of specialisation;
  • Define business requirements producing Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and System Requirements Documents (SRD) as appropriate;
  • Assess the impact and identify the gap between current and proposed solutions;
  • Propose solutions aligned with business requirements, overall information architecture and the operating context;
  • Define and execute test plans and test cases;
  • Manage vendors and service providers, as appropriate, in particular, oversee contracts with third parties and associated service level agreements;
  • Proactively monitor if external parties (namely eFront SAS) deliver in line with contractual obligations, particularly in relation to implementation, maintenance and support of the selected solutions and platforms;
  • Support and administer the selected solutions (namely eFront Front Invest Alternative) ensuring that users and usage, reference tables and customisations are delivered as required;
  • Act as a back-up for colleagues within the team;
  • Maintain a close relationship with the business and provide advice when required.

Qualifications:
  • University degree, preferably in computer science, engineering and/or business administration the latest complemented by quantitative studies preferably at postgraduate level;
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience with particular emphasis on Business Analysis, its methods and tools;
  • Very good technical background in Information technology,  experience in programming, SQL, and relational databases would be considered a plus;
  • Understanding of eFront platforms and modules, or equivalent solutions, covering Private Equity, Guarantees, Securitization and Micro-Credit would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms like BO, SAS or Tableau would be an advantage;
  • Prior experience in planning, provisioning and support of IT services and solutions is required;
  • Solid experience in project management, preferably complemented by PMI or equivalent certification;
  • Good understanding of the finance and banking environment and products;
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written. Knowledge of additional EU languages would be an advantage.
